Ok so you all know we are a bit on the …shall I say overly cautious..Well at least we are where the kids are concerned in our family! So like any good grandma with a soon to be first time mama in the house, I was beyond thrilled when I got the chance to review the Safe&Sound Monitor. Right now my 20 year old is 3 days PAST her due date…so my plans of UBBER cute baby photos showcasing my wonderful new grandbaby, Bellamie in the review ..well you can see the complication here…So I will be forced to go on without the photos…yet! I will add them as soon as she is born!!
We all know the Vtech brand! www.vtech.com I have Vtech phone systems in our house and for the BHDD business phone line. I have over the years bought at least 50 learning tools made by Vtech and with the great luck we have had with other Vtech items..I feel confident that we have the best possible baby monitor for Bellemie! Baby’ are not a toy and they take a lot of work. No they do not come with manuals…and I dont care how much you read up on them there will be things forgotten..new moms are tired, over worked and often just down right exhausted…NO one can work well in that state of mind…in comes this lil dream machine! First I want to give you the highlights…SUPER SIMPLE to use. Literally we pulled it out of the box..plugged it in and attached the camera to a window still that faced the crib using the included 2 screws and the cameras mount…turned it on and sat in awe of this new toy…I mean new..technology….being responsible adults of course we played with it! This thing does it all! It has a full color video and audio monitor. It has split screen viewing that allows you to see up to 4 cameras from 1 unit, Infrared LED (yep NIGHT VISION!!), a walkie talkie..(Yes you can TALK to your baby through this!!!), a 1000 foot range (sweet if your baby is napping and you need to do laundry, cook a meal…or maybe even catch upon your friendly family bloggers here on the BHDD!) Want more…cause there’s more…way more! Check this out…it will tell you the temperature of the room.. whether it is too hot or cool. It sings lullabies,it has 6 levels of sound indication,(it tells you if your baby’s surroundings are too noisy for a comfortable baby!), you can zoom in and out plus the camera swivels…giving you a view of anything you want to see in your baby’s room. It has a parent alert that vibrates if your baby needs you.This is all viewed on a 2,8″ color monitor with 320×240 pixel display transmitting up to 22 frames per second. I dont know when baby gear started kicking James Bonds butt in technology but Vtech seems to be keeping up pace with newest and the best. Ok in a age where baby swings hold I-Pods to lul baby to sleep (I am serous….our holds a freeking I-pod!),it is nice to know a company that I have grown to know and love over the years has not only kept pace but passed up the competitors (Night vision people…I mean come o…NIGHT VISION! 🙂 ) If you have a baby you want this, if you are GOING to have a baby..you want this..if you leave your kids with a sitter while you work..you want this…if your a granny like me..you want this. Ok you might have guessed that this got our BHDD 5 paws stamp of approval! We are in love and cannot wait to awe Miss Bellamie with this super cool high tech wonder! I’ve always loved the idea behind these. You can get a “sneak peek” without being caught. That was always my downfall when i wanted to check on one of the little ones while they were sleeping to make sure they were okay, they’d catch me and there that’d go. Love this! I think its pretty neat it tells you the room temp too, amazing what products can do nowadays.

Oh how I wish they had this when my kids were babies. It would have saved me countless moments where I had my ear to the one we did have wondering if everything is okay.

I don’t care if it is my first or my last, no matter what I’m the type that goes in to make sure their chest is moving, to see if I heard a noise, if they are up, etc. Something like this would be great and give me a bit of peace. I’m due May1st so and I’m sure I’ll be driving myself nuts with trips to the baby’s bed.
